Gold Coast Hinterland Glow Worm tour with Southern Cross 4WD

We were looking for some excitement and adventure in the spectacular Gold Coast rainforest and we didn't have to look any further than Southern Cross 4 Wheel Driving Glow Worm Night Tour. On the afternoon we left our Surfers Paradise apartment at 6pm and Chris our driver picked us up and we were with a small group, which was nice. This was our second visit to the Gold Coast and we wondered what we had missed last time, when we hired a car. Starting from the afternoon tea, we realised why it's a good idea to go on a Gold Coast day tour like this, as Chris told us so much more interesting detailed stuff, that we didn't realise about this part of Queensland. Before heading up to Tamborine mountain, we had the opportunity to view the famous Gold Coast Skyline and stop for a quick photo opportunity which definitely gave us the giggles, while taking in the views for miles. We definitely had an appetite built up for the afternoon tea and enjoyed the supper of freshly baked cakes with our cup of tea.

Once the sun went down the nocturnal wildlife really began to come out and Chris knowledge and experience meant it was easy for him to point out all sorts of weird and wonderful creatures, including owls,possums and frogs, which really tested our photography skills. Then to be able to view the glowworms from the banks of a beautiful waterfall, which was almost hidden, was just great. We managed to see some turtles too. Apparently the location is exclusive and so watching the glow worms seemed to be even more special where we were taken deep inside the Tamborine National Park.

The tour seemed to be over so quickly, always a good sign of how interesting it was and how much we enjoyed it, time just flew. If you're interested in the natural side of the Gold Coast away from the glitter, we couldn't think of a better way to experience the environment that seems to be a million miles away from Surfers Paradise nightlife but is not that far away at all. So glad we did this.
