The Lost World Valley

The scenery is always impressive, no matter whether skies are blue or cloudy, see the vivid mountains of the World Heritage listed Lamington National Park as they rise up dramatically above the Valley plain, peppered by the chill rock pools of the Upper Albert River and Christmas Creek; the region takes in Kerry, Darlington as well as Lamington too. One of the best ways to see The Lost World Valley is from up above and take off with Hot Air Balloon Scenic Rim, float up, up and away and get a real sense of the majesty and distances and scope of the entire region. Hot Air Balloon rides happen daily and it’s recommended to book well in advance.

Other activities available in The Lost World Valley include fishing find some suitable creek frontage and try your hand at sport fishing for Bass or Spangled Perch and look out for, Mary River Cod, Eels and Eel Tailed Catfish. If you’d rather bring your binoculars and do a spot of bird watching, you’re in the right place, bring your field guide book and see just how many bird species you can see and ask the locals which birds are migrating as seasonally the sights will change, whether you’re lucky enough to see Dollar Birds and Channell Bill Cuckoos or our favourite the Azure Kingfishers.
