There is so much to see and do on the Gold Coast. We have put together a guide of Gold Coast things to do, places to stay, places to dine and more, especially as locals ourselves, we like to recommend those local Gold Coast family businesses we know and trust and have worked with many years.
Tours, attractions and activities on the Gold Coast do bring a lot of happiness to visitors of all ages. From exciting rides, unusual animals, big waterslides, to the variety of walks on the glorious Gold Coast Hinterlands, there is something for everyone.
Where else can you go to the vineyard district and do a wine trail, go to a different theme park every day, cycle along miles and miles of wide sandy beaches, float up in a Gold Coast hot air balloon and hug koalas all within an hour’s drive of your Gold Coast hotel.
And then the best known beach on Queensland’s Gold Coast is Surfers Paradise. No Queensland holiday is complete without a day at the beach at "Surfers", watch the locals do their morning walk, there’s always amazing people watching no matter what time of day you’re on the sand.
We also recommend definitely doing a Whale Watching Cruise in winter months, having a go at a thrilling Jetboating ride and at least one visit to Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary. All of these Gold Coast things to do are ranked in the Top 10 tours and activities for the Gold Coast.
The other great thing about things to do on the Gold Coast, is that in trying different things, it takes you through some really diverse suburbs and towns that are distinctly poles apart, such as the glitzy and trendy at Main Beach where you can find Palazzo Versace, as well as Sea World and some really different shopping at Marina Mirage. Tamborine Mountain is green and eco-friendly with some amazing antique and craft shopping. Or choose to go to Nobbys Beach where the locals just hang out, Kirra which has the name as the Gold Coast’s favourite surf beach or maybe you’ll be in Broadbeach when one of their many local festivals are running, music, cultural or sporty, no matter it’s generally free entry.
