All set to go Hot Air Ballooning in Cairns and boarded a very early drive over the range and when we got there, we were informed that the flight was cancelled! So sad, we were told that another front was coming in, oh well, better safe than sorry! The good news was the they also do ballooning at the Gold Coast and we were heading there. A Second Chance, and we were taking it!

Thanks to Alan and all the members of the crew, it was truly fun and an experience to remember, of course it helps with good weather and a professional team. Thanks to all. The Champagne breakfast was a nice touch, if we could only have landed at the vineyard! A bit much to ask for? Keep up the excellent work, Cheers!

.Hot Air Balloon Gold Coast, I just want to share with you a little video that was made the same day we had taken a beautiful balloon ride with you guys ( sometime around the mid September 2012 ) We had some friends from America visiting, ( Mark n Jen and their two children Franny n Finn ) Our daughter Kelly ( who is the star of the video) had just been diagonised terminal melanoma cancer in her liver.

We just wanted you to know how wonderfully happy your balloon ride made ...Kelly that day. All seven of us had one of the best days ever, it was soooo very serene and peaceful and it was a delight to watch our beautiful precious daughter enjoy and take in the wonder of the ride and seemingly to be contented and peaceful. It was just wonderful !!
And we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making that day possible.
Kelly passed away on the 28th. December 2012, she was 34 years old.
We miss her sooo bad it is unbearable, but we will always have our memories of that day and our little video She Just Breathes.

Please enjoy !! .......... Bruce n Terri Geissmann

Float!
It was a dark start to an early morning but then the colours out my window started to change to an eerie grey.
We were travelling on country roads I could see the fog hugging the ground amongst the trees.
Anticipation was starting to build and through all my nerves I was sure that this was going to be a good day.
Everything was quiet everything was still, no animals moved, there was not even a gentle breeze.
Finally we arrived at our destination in a farmers paddock the sun starting to slowly rise.
As we got out of the bus there was a kaleidoscope of colours, the sky was a light shade of blue.
The grass was now green instead of light grey the clouds soft pink and in the distance could be heard bird cries.
Three feet away a big wicker basket attached to an orange balloon trying to rise fighting against the ground crew.
The orange balloon with hugging koalas is now filled with hot air one by one we climb into the basket.
Heart starts racing anticipation mounting the pilot fires up the burners the intense heat felt on our heads.
Slowly we start to rise higher and higher as the land below us throws off its foggy blanket.
The sun’s rays now peeped just over the top of the coastal horizon as farmers started to rise from their beds.
We had now raised to 4000 feet the sun’s rays reflecting off ponds and a sea of low lying clouds.
The ocean and the rising sun to the east, the mountains still in different shades of grey to the west.
In the distance was Brisbane city buildings and east the Gold Coast was bathed in a golden shroud.
Oh this was becoming the best birthday present yet!
I forgot my fears I loved the view the land rolled by the scene just filled me with delight.
Cows and horses looked at us as we came over head.
Every now and again the sound of the gas burner going off filled them with fright.
But the sight was so funny I actually looked over the side of the basket - I lost all thought of my feelings of dread.
It was time to end our wonderful adventure, time to descend.
But the view was so spectacular and such a joy to see my fear of height was totally forgotten.
I did not want this journey to come to an end.
As we came down through some clouds they were as white as cotton.
This was certainly the best present on which money I did spend.
I have been in caves even though small spaces I cannot stand.
As time has gone on one by one my fears I have started to smote.
With my husband by my side I have now faced my fear of height as he held my hand.
This was the best day ever and it was such a joy to be in the sky and just FLOAT!!
