The State Library of Queensland is a part of The Cultural Centre at South Bank, Brisbane. Recently renovated, the Library offers a relaxed leisure and learning place with a state-of-the-art reference section and space to showcase unique heritage collections. The ground level is equipped with couches and computers, also has a corner section for kids to play in. Levels 2-5 are for quiet study and have desks, couches, meeting rooms, music practice rooms, computers, an area for newspapers, lecture theatres..there is always plenty on at Brisbane’s State Library of Queensland. Sit in the "Red Box" inside the library (an architectural high-ceilinged marvel) and meditate on the view of the Brisbane River, or choose a comfortable chair and read or study quietly.

So many things you can do here but perhaps you can browse through The Map Collection at the State Library of Queensland that provides cartographic coverage of the world, with a major emphasis on Queensland and Australia. The State Library also hosts various exhibitions in its own gallery space.
