Witches Falls Winery is an impressive Queensland winery located in the Gold Coast hinterland region, just one hour from Brisbane and approximately 40 minutes from Surfers Paradise, Gold Coast. The winery is dedicated to quality winemaking through attention to detail, utilising the most appropriate technology and methods available, using the best available resources and attentive winemaking practices so as to create good varietal wines. Witches Falls Winery is a small, highly regarded 200 tonne winery who sources premium grapes from the Granite Belt to produce a select range of quality handmade Queensland wines.

The quality of their wine is fantastic and they have the awards to prove it. They are not a large commercial operation and therefore offer a very friendly and informal atmosphere. Jon has over 12 years experience in the wine industry and has made wine in the Barossa Valley, Hunter Valley and in 2008 a stint at Domaine Chantel Lescure in Burgundy. There are three tiers in the Witches Falls wine range. The first is the Granite belt range which consists of a Fiano, Verdello, Sauvignon Bland, Chardonnay, Merlot, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon. Following this there is the Wild Ferment Range which comprises of Viognier, Chardonnay, Fiano, Grenache and Pinot Noir. The flagship wines are the Prophecy range which are rich complex and will benefit for years of careful cellaring. Jon's deep interest in experimenting with progressive vinification methods in order to achieve exceptional and interesting results shows throughout this winery. You only have to spend some time with the man to notice the level of commitment he has to doing things properly. This is one of the main reasons as to why this winery has quickly gained its solid reputation as one of Queensland’s major players when it comes to wine. This is remarkable when one considers the cellar door only opened its doors in August 2004.
