Tamborine Mountain National Park is set on the Gold Coast Hinterland, known by locals and visitors as a must do, for over 100 years. Located just 30 minutes from the beaches at Surfers Paradise, Tamborine Mountain is also known as the beating green heart of the Gold Coast Hinterland and is home to the third oldest national park in the world and is a favourite for romance and weddings, featuring a cluster of cosy hideaways, day spas, national parks and waterfalls.

Perched along the edge of the Scenic Rim – the remnants of what was once the massive Mount Warning volcano – Tamborine Mountain is a thriving region, encompassing boutique wineries, award-winning restaurants, art galleries, sweeping coastal views and a delicate blend of old and new-world charm. Tamborine Mountain National Park is a great place to visit summer or winter, there are many eating establishments and shops as well as a Sky Walk. A visit here will suit all ages and you won't be disappointed. The views at various lookouts are breathtaking! Enjoy some wineries, hotels for lunch over-looking the most amazing views or browsing down the main street at all the craft, foods or wares.

When you visit Tamborine Mountain, visit the many waterfalls as Tamborine is well known for walking tracks winding through rainforest regions and occasionally past cliffs or waterfalls. The most well-known ones are the Curtis Falls rainforest track, and the Knoll, though there are others. These tracks are easily reached by clearly defined walking trails and bushwalks. Lookouts with breathtaking views invite to stop and gaze into the distance. There are numerous beautiful picnic and BBQ areas, inviting you to enjoy a meal in the Great Outdoors.

If you are staying overnight in Tamborine, consider experiencing a hot air balloon ride with Hot Air Balloon Scenic Rim ; definitely worth spending a morning admiring the spectacular views of Mount Tamborine and other surrounding National Parks, up from a floating balloon. Delicious vineyard breakfast is also included in the tour. Please do remember that as Tamborine National Park does cover over twenty eight square kilometres including the Plateau and the foothills of the Mountain, that the temperature is always cooler than the coast, even in summer. Balloon rides fly every day with views of Tamborine Mountain, except Christmas and New Years Days.

Tamborine Mountain is a nature lover’s utopia, we highly recommend that you spend some time, whether it’s a day to drive around and enjoy a picnic, or a weekend to bushwalk and stay at a B&B or any of the Tamborine Mountain accommodation and wander through the woodlands to scenic waterfalls and see an amazing range of ferns and wildlife, including lyrebirds and bowerbirds. There is truly so many good reasons, that visitors have enjoyed Tamborine Mountain for one hundred years plus.
