The best experience! You’ll regret coming to Cairns without riding the hot air balloon
My father and I (a high school first-year student) joined this tour after arriving in Cairns and booking it as an optional activity.
The hot air balloon tour departed from the Queenslander Hotel at 3:40 AM. On the way, the winding mountain road to Kuranda was quite bumpy, and when a small child got carsick, the driver kindly offered a seat change and took a break—he was incredibly kind and thoughtful. I think motion sickness medicine like the kind used for Green Island or Outlander tours would be good to bring.
The balloon staff were all cheerful and friendly, making the whole experience so much fun.
When in Cairns, not riding this balloon simply isn't an option—the 45-minute flight offers a 360° panoramic view, sunrise, and even sightings of kangaroos and wallabies. It was an absolutely incredible time, well worth more than the cost.
Folding up the balloon together with everyone afterwards was also a fun activity.
We arrived at Cairns Airport at 9:30 AM with plenty of time to spare for our Jetstar JQ025 flight that day.
