Worth the Early Wake-Up!
It was an early morning tour, but I’m really glad I joined.
Our driver Mike, who came to pick us up at 3:55 am, was always full of energy. He sprinkled in a few Japanese words here and there, which kept us entertained the whole time.
Watching the balloon inflate and heat up, then climbing aboard when it was ready, was fascinating. The roar and heat of the burner, and the gentle lift-off of the balloon, was an experience you don’t get every day.
The group photo we took up in the sky was later sent via a link to our email address, from which we could download it.
For the safety briefing, there was a video in Japanese. The important points were also repeated in slow, clear English, so even those who don’t understand English can feel at ease.
There were toilet breaks both before boarding the balloon and after the ride. On the return trip, it seems they can drop you off at the location you request, so if you have another plan afterwards, you can tell the tour company and they’ll accommodate.
It became a wonderful memory. Thank you, Mike!
