This is a very safety conscious hot-air balloon operation, so if this is your first ride then you do not have anything to be worried about here. There is a professional commercial balloon pilot and a ground crew that totally take care of everyone - they will even take pictures for you! :-)
Just know that hot air rises when the air is cool, so you will leave very early (4:00-4:30 am) depending on where you are being picked up from and time to arrive. The crew sets everything up and the balloons are pretty ready to take off when you arrive. This is the most peaceful way to spend the morning and watch the sunrise you will ever have.
You will be given instructions on where to stand and what to do during take off and landing. It is very important to follow instructions for your safety and others in the balloon with you. These are large balloon baskets and while I do not know the total number of people they hold, we had 20 in our basket.
