This is one activity which was my dream and we had to do it anyhow. It is costly no doubt. I tried to do this in Lonavala too but it was costly and it still is. But when we go out in a place like Gold Coast so all this can be adjusted in the whole package. Isn't it?
So finally we got this included in our package and we were able to do it. It was amazing thing and one should if possible do it by any means. This is a very early morning activity and you have to wake up as early as 4 am and go to a far place from where the hot air balloon would take off.
The pickup was perfect and the weather was cold. Through out the way Tony kept us entertaining and providing with so much of information on ballooning. He was an amazing guy from start and till the end. We reached the take off spot just before the sun light touched the land. The balloons were huge and they were getting ready. One balloon cart holds upto 15-17 people. We were made to hop in 2 at a time in different chambers in the cart to maintain balance.
And finally the take off took place. It was so cool. I simply loved it. What a feeling. Quiet, serene, peaceful and what not. Even the pilot was a cool guy. He explained us everything so well and kept on speaking all the time giving us all the possible knowledge. We could see wonderful plateaus and hills below also the jungle and the plains. Also saw the kangaroos hoping around. Everything looked so beautiful and just like one would see in the magazines and televisions.
We landed in a beautiful farm and then were taken on a carrier to the bus and then finally taken to O'Reilly's Grand Homestead, Vineyard for the Champagne Breakfast. Lovely sunny weather in cold. What else do u need. Amazing breakfast though not much of vegetarian options but still workable. Amazing vineyard with beautiful surroundings and greenery. Lovely big place.
It was a very memorable experience and we hope to try doing this in other places to see the beauty of places from above. A must recommended activity while in Gold Coast. You won't regret.
