A guide to Restaurants and dining in Port Douglas

For over 25 years, Port Douglas has had the reputation of serving the finest tropical food in all of Northern Australia. Port Douglas seems to have the knack to attract chefs from all over the world, who can't believe the laid back and amazing local enviroment combines with some excellent restaurant dining standards, fantastic local produce and unheard of local tropical fruits, for them

Port Douglas is known for it's seafood, it's also known to have every price range for dining on offer, including very expensive. Breakfast is definitely an art in Port Douglas and it's worth trying breakfast in a different cafe every morning during your stay.
Lunch is actually bigger on weekends when the Cairns locals visit Port Douglas but otherwise you may be surprised at how many restaurants are closed for lunch but that's due to the majority of visitors being out the full day on a Great Barrier Reef or hot air balloon or rainforest tour.

We've complied below the Port Douglas restaurants the Hot Air Balloon Port Douglas team have dined in personally and that we know and are happy to recommend and yes we did mean to include a pie shop in our list! Of course, it's always worth trying the local fish and chip shop too with a bottle of wine on Four Mile Beach at sunset!
