The company started in 2004, when owners Andre and Meredith Morris bought the factory on Beacon Road. With a deep desire to produce handmade cheeses alongside their passion for good beer, it's grown from a cheese factory into a brewery and cafe/restaurant with great service and products.
Set amongst the temperate rainforest of Tamborine Mountain, the factory handcrafts a specialty range of award-winning premium cheeses, including fresh, soft, blue and hard varieties. There's so much to taste and buy here - triple cream brie, triple cream blue, goat's cheese, salmon with chilli, to name a few - along with a great variety of yoghurts and ice cream. Traditional methods are used throughout to create the cheeses and award-winning beers.
If you're spending a day in Mount Tamborine, be sure to stop in and enjoy what's on offer - complimentary cheese tasting, beer tasting, or lunch in the beer garden (sometimes with live music) at Long Road Bistro. At Witches Chase Cheese Company, the team travels up the road each morning to pick up that day's milk from a local farmer, producing small batches of high-quality cheeses, ice cream and yoghurt. Visitors can watch the cheese-making process and buy directly from the cheesemakers.
After your cheese tasting, step across the walkway to Fortitude Brewing - huge stainless steel vats house a preservative and additive-free brew, with plenty of opportunity for sample shots.
