🌊 A History of Sea World

Sea World was originally known as the Surfers Paradise Ski Gardens, presenting water ski shows that combined comedy, aqua ballet and action. In 1971, it moved to its current location on the Gold Coast Spit at Main Beach. After major works to build a new ski lake, the park was rebranded as Sea World with the introduction of dolphins, polar bears, seals, otters and other marine displays, plus a replica of the ship Endeavour, a swimming pool, licensed restaurant and gift shop. Further animal exhibits, rides, shops and food outlets have been added over the years, cementing Sea World's place as one of the Gold Coast's most popular attractions - particularly in summer for its water-based rides.
