Mason Wines - Granite Belt Winery

Mason Wines is a family owned wine business, situated in the Granite Belt in Queensland, 10 minutes south of Stanthorpe and 15 minutes north of Tenterfield on the New England Highway. The winery is dedicated to producing a wine of which Queensland can be proud. Mason Wines built a state-of-the-art winery, completed in early 2009, with temperature and humidity control of the wine storage areas and barrel rooms, allowing closer control of wine quality.

Robert and Kim Mason set strict criteria when searching for land suited to viticulture: a long history of commercial stone fruit production with well-drained, deep soil. The first property was purchased in 1997, with vines planted soon after. A second property was purchased in 2000, and a cellar door was constructed. They have planted cabernet sauvignon, chardonnay, shiraz, merlot, viognier, semillon, verdelho, sauvignon blanc and petit verdot - yet another Queenslander on the ascent.

Mason Wines Cellar Door Cafe is the perfect place to enjoy a lazy lunch by the fire, stroll through the rolling vineyards, or stop in for a great coffee and cake. Enjoy watching the sun set over the mountains while indulging in fine wine and fresh, seasonal, local cuisine. The tastefully designed dining room looks out to the rear gardens, with glass pane windows letting in plenty of sun - there's a real warmth about it.
