Chasing Clouds and Creating Opportunities over the Atherton Tablelands with Hervey Bay Videography

As the early morning light began to stretch across Tropical North Queensland, the Atherton Tablelands offered up a beautifully dramatic morning. Rather than a generic clear sky, the dawn presented a spectacular, moody canvas - a mix of soft blues peeking through sweeping, textured clouds, with a cinematic mist hugging the distant ranges. Below, the recent rains had painted the landscape in the most vibrant, lush greens imaginable. It was a dynamic, breathtaking atmosphere, perfect for a creative eye.

We had the absolute pleasure of welcoming Brendan, the adventurous spirit behind Hervey Bay Videography, to the launch site of Hot Air Balloon Cairns to capture this unforgettable morning.

The Flight Experience

There is a distinct kind of magic in watching the world wake up from a thousand feet in the air, and Brendan’s flight captured that essence flawlessly.

As the burners roared into the cool morning air - illuminating the basket with a warm, fiery glow - the balloon gently lifted off the earth. Brendan, equipped with his Insta360 camera, was treated to an unparalleled panorama of the Tablelands. Drifting effortlessly above the sprawling agricultural patchwork and waking towns of the region, the flight offered a serene yet awe-inspiring perspective of Tropical North Queensland.

The contrast of our iconic golden balloon against the dramatic morning sky made for a visual feast. Brendan even captured the incredible feeling of floating amongst the clouds with a fantastic 360-degree perspective from the edge of the basket.

The adventure didn't stop when we touched back down. Part of the Hot Air Balloon Cairns experience is the post-flight pack-up, where our guests get to step inside the massive, brightly coloured balloon envelope. Surrounded by vibrant swathes of yellow and orange fabric, the smiles said it all.

Meet the Creator: Brendan

When he isn't capturing stunning visual narratives through his lens, Brendan is a man who thrives on adrenaline, movement, and an active lifestyle. A true connoisseur of high-octane experiences, his favourite places to visit are quite simply "anywhere and everywhere." Whether he is taking to the skies in hot air balloons and helicopters, riding jet skis and ATVs, or getting behind the controls of a bulldozer, Brendan is always chasing the next great thrill.

His passions reflect a deep commitment to wellness and pushing his physical limits. You can often find him training at the gym, freediving in the deep blue, stepping into the ring for Muay Thai, or engaging in a fast-paced game of pickleball.

Perhaps most inspiring is Brendan's personal philosophy: he loves to create his own path. He is a firm believer that simply having the courage to ask can open unexpected doors and create incredible opportunities - a brilliant mindset that ultimately brought him into our basket! When the adventures of the day finally draw to a close, Brendan’s favourite way to relax and wind down is by cruising his local streets, indulging his latest obsession with e-bikes and e-scooters.
